Alan + Melissa

Nestled on the serene waters of Murray’s Pond in beautiful Portugal Cove, Newfoundland, Alan and Melissa’s wedding was a testament to family history and the couple’s unique vision for their special day. With roots deeply intertwined with the locale, the couple chose to exchange vows on Alan’s parent’s property, a former family-owned fishing lodge turned family home. The picturesque setting across the pond from Murray’s Pond Country Club where Alan’s parents had tied the knot decades earlier, a small dory their wedding night transportation to the fishing lodge that would now play host to celebrate their son’s marriage to his lovely bride.

The culinary experience, curated by esteemed chefs Ken Pittman formerly of SETO and Jeremy Charles of The Merchant Tavern, was a gastronomic delight. From surf and turf delicacies to handcrafted cocktails courtesy of Collingwood Spirits and Wines (the family business), every bite and sip reflected the couple’s discerning taste.

The transformation of the backyard into an elegant venue was a labour of love, with meticulous attention to detail evident in every aspect. Two expansive tents, one for the ceremony and afternoon cocktail reception and a second for the evening dinner, seamlessly accommodated two separate guest lists while adhering to the tail end of COVID restrictions. From exquisite florals to crisp white linens under the chandelier draping ceiling, every element knit together to create an unforgettable ambiance for Alan and Melissa’s first dance as husband and wife.
